Hey All!
Neon here. =^-^= Just wanted to get the blog posting off and running, while I’m here behind the scenes working hard to bring this site to fruition. As the title implies, I plan to utilize this section to share my “odd thoughts” with you. This could include, but is not limited to- recipes, decor ideas, opinions, personal reflections, updates on my garden , sewing projects in progress, inspiration, travels, etc. I hope it will help everyone who encounters The Neon Odditorium get a little peek at some of the cogs behind my inner workings, and the strong passion I feel for creation, and craftsmanship with integrity. The photo I’ve included is of a golden loincloth I made back in my first year of doing pop-up markets, that is 100% completely my own design. It was definitely eccentric, and my more out-there creations always get some chuckles, or doubtful clucking about its out of the box nature. I’m not going to lie, it can sting sometimes as I have always felt misunderstood and out of place, sowing seeds of self-doubt. I have a strong sense that when I create, the end product I envision is already pre-destined and custom crafted to an individual; I just don’t know what they look like yet. Like a talisman, some of my magic takes longer to find its master than others, and thats ok. Luckily, this beauty didn’t take long to find her home, and it gave me such a surge of confidence when it sold! A few people in my life were expressing concern that I might have not ever been able to sell it. I will have to post the follow up photo in future reflections. I love that my creations seem to help bring out a side of people that is being suppressed, or under-appreciated and hold space for that. I love that they can put on my creations and feel just a little bit more themselves. We all deserve to wear what makes us feel good, and more ourselves. Look out world wide web!
